An off-duty LA police officer posted an Instagram video from a bar, showing a beer in the background and a message warning about drinking and driving just hours before he was involved in a possible DUI crash on the 605 Freeway that killed three people. The officer has been arrested for vehicular manslaughter and suspicion of felony driving under the influence.

The short video, which can be seen below, features an animated avatar, wearing a Dodgers shirt, atop a bar counter. The cartoon character sits in a red car, honking the horn, with a message written underneath: “#dontdrinkanddrive,” reported KTLA.

The video was posted tot he account of LAPD Officer Edgar Verduzco , 26, as an Instagram story some time around 7 p.m. Tuesday evening. The fatal freeway crash occurred about 10:15 p.m. near Whittier, when his 2016 Chevy Camaro rear-ended two vehicles while traveling at high speed, officials said.

LAPD Officer Edgar Verduzco is seen in an image uploaded to his Instagram account July 29, 2017.

One of the vehicles caught fire and was quickly engulfed in flames, killing a teen and his two parents. A 31-year-old woman in the second vehicle sustained minor injuries, and Verduzco suffered a broken nose.

Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, according to CHP, which said Verduzco was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.

Verduzco is being held at the Men’s Central Jail in downtown Los Angeles, with his bail set at $100,000.

The family killed were parents Maribel and Mario and their son Oscar Davila, of Riverside. Maribel and Mario are survived by three sons, family members said.
