Irish singer Sinead O’Connor has released a harrowing 12-minute video saying she is ‘suicidal’ and ‘alone’ living in fear in a motel in New Jersey.

Fears are now growing for the 50-year old after she exposed the Catholic Church’s sexual abuse and pedophile rings.

The Irish pop singer, who rose to fame in the 1990’s, took a dramatic turn in her career when she famously ripped up a picture of the pope on live US television.

The move caused massive outrage amongst high ranking figures within the Catholic church and has made her a target ever since. The mainstream media are now labeling O’Connor as ‘troubled’ and ‘mentally ill’ which could be used as a way of discrediting everything she has said against the Catholic church.

O’Connor also says in her video that being “mentally ill” shouldn’t “invalidate everything I say”.

This is the statement Sinead O’Connor made in the video from an “unknown” motel:

“And there’s absolutely nobody in my life except my doctor, my psychiatrist – the sweetest man on earth, who says I’m his hero – and that’s the only fucking thing keeping me alive at the moment… and that’s kind of pathetic.

I want everyone to know what it’s like, that’s why I’m making this video. Mental illness, it’s like drugs, it doesn’t give a shit who you are, and equally, what’s worse, it’s the stigma, it doesn’t give a shit who you are.

Suddenly all the people who are supposed to be loving you and taking care of you are treating you like shit. It’s like a witch hunt.”

Sinead O’Connor’s protest against the Catholic church and its handling of sexual abuse scandals is well documented.

She also revealed in 2013, to the Irish Sun her imprisonment in the Our Lady of Charity Laundry in Dublin.

The Irish singer set alarm bells ringing in 2016 when she went missing in Chicago whilst in town for a David Bowie tribute.

Police searched for her for 2 days after she went missing in the Wilmette area following reports that she had suffered suicidal bouts of depression.

She was eventually found by police, but concerns for her safety had been growing since she revealed information in 2013 about the sexual abuse she and others had suffered as children at a Catholic Church school.

  1. Find me in facebook on if you like..

  2. Sweet, sweet, sweet Sinead. I fully understand where you are going through. Have been depressed – and suicidal too for many fucking years. Lonely like hell – and allthough no longer suffering from depression etc, still very lonely as no one seem to understand me except from my ninety year old mom.
Like you I was a professional musician, till I had to stop. Feelings strong emotional feelings took over for years – and still can not listen or play music – affraid that all will come back.
All I hope for you is that you slowly get some rest, and if you want to be my friend, you are very welcome. I live in Spain, but born in Amsterdam The Netherlands… live alone with three dogs and a cat, next to the mediteranian sea – no neighbours and every evening enjoying the sun going down – alone.
Write to me if you feel like it, and I always will write back to you. You are a wonderful person Sinead – I sometimes listen to you singing – favorite is Don’t cry for me Argentina . . . and by listening, I know you can not be anything else than a very loving person. Hugs, strong hugs, Marit
