Another racist was caught on a cell phone video berating a Latino family and an Asian employee. This time, a woman in New Jersey was triggered when a Latino family slowed a checkout line by using coupons.
“Send them back to their own fucking country,” the woman can be heard saying in clips of the video shared by Simoni Lovano. The 27-year-old said the video was recorded Sunday at the Sears on Route 1 in New Brunswick, N.J.
The woman can be heard yelling about the family holding up the line through by using coupons, and she also rails against the employee who was assisting the family, NJ 101.5 reported.
“Let’s drain the swamp! Hurry up!” said a man who was with the woman.
The woman seemed to believe that the family was receiving preferential treatment because they were of “Indian” descent (but they were not actually Indian) like the Sears employee.
“You got an Indian waiting on an Indian, that’s what it is,” she can be heard raving.
“They’re not Indian,” someone is heard telling her.
“I don’t know what the hell they are …,” the woman then could be heard responding.
“That has nothing to do with anything,” another person said.
Lovano told the radio station that a store employee attempted to calm the woman but never asked her to leave.
He said that everyone seemed shocked and uncomfortable by the comments as all the customers and employees appeared to be minorities.
“Nobody intervened to actually address her hateful comments,” he told 101.5. “I feel guilty as well that I didn’t speak up. I was so angry I was almost shaking, and it was very hard for me to say something.”
Lovano said one of the Latina customers being attacked turned to him and apologized. “She actually felt she was the one at fault,” he said. “That is the saddest part of all.”
