Following the Manchester terrorist attack, the US led airstrikes that killed at least 16 civilians, mostly refugees that fled terrorism in other areas.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, US coalition terrorist attacks in the village of al-Barouda occurred Tuesday night, killing at least 16 civilians, including five children, and wounding a large number of others. Many of the wounded have severe injuries and are expected to die, reported The Australian.

Al-Barouda is 15 km west of the ISIS capital city of al-Raqqa, near the area where Kurdish YPG forces are attempting to “surround” the city. It does not, however, appear that there was any fighting around the time of the airstrikes, so it’s unclear why the village was attacked at all.

Among those killed is a woman and her five children, the Observatory said, adding that most of the dead were refugees from al-Sukhana area, which is controlled by the jihadist group and located in the eastern countryside of Homs.

The Observatory said 225 civilians, including 44 children, were killed by US-led attacks between April 23 and May 23.

The Pentagon has not issued a statement on the attack at all, let alone on the civilian deaths.
