Cleveland ‘Cop Block’ Activists Demanding Police Accountability For Death of Unarmed 12-Year-Old

Activism, Crime, Police Brutality

Police accountability activist Deo Odolecki was interviewed after Tuesday’s Cudell Park meeting between city officials and concerned members of the community. Cudell Recreation Center is the location where police gunned down 12-year-old Tamir Rice last weekend.

Deo of Greater Cleveland Cop Block made a lot of waves with his statement to the police, at that meeting. Here’s the audio of that, in case you missed it:

Now, Deo has given us the video of the interview he did yesterday, relaying his impression of a town hall meeting Tuesday night at Cudell Commons in Cleveland. At the meeting, residents expressed frustration and anger about Cleveland police to Mayor Frank Jackson and other city officials about the shooting of Tamir.

Interviewers also spoke with Jovon Warren, a Cleveland resident, who talked about his experience with Cleveland police as well as the Tamir Rice shooting.

Deo urges everyone in Ohio to “to wake up” and start “filming the police!”

It’s only by recording police interactions that Odolecki says things are going to change. “If you want accountability,” he explained, “your going to have to take the initiative and go and get it yourselves!”
