New Ebola Scare As Passenger Vomits and Dies On Plane, Lands At JFK

Health, Health Care

A new Ebola scare is just breaking out as a passenger flying from Nigeria reportedly vomited and died aboard a plane that landed at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport early Thursday.

“It is my understanding that a plane from Nigeria landed at JFK today with a passenger who passed away en route,” Representative Peter King (R-NY) said in a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson.

“Based on what I know of this situation, I have very serious concerns about the cursory exam conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention official to determine that the passenger did not have Ebola […].”

The incident occurred on an Arik Air airplane that left from Lagos, Nigeria. A federal law enforcement source told the New York Post that the unnamed passenger vomited in his seat just moments before dying.

The plane had 145 passengers aboard, and landed at JFK at 6 a.m. Thursday, after the incident of vomiting and death of the Ebola stricken passenger.

We contacted representatives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Customs and Border Patrol, and the Federal Aviation Administration but they all said they had no comment on this incident at this time.
