When 27-year-old Chris Lollie was approached by St. Paul, Minnesota police officers, asking for identification, he refused, explaining that since he had committed no crime, he had no duty to identify himself.

“Why do I have to let you know who I am? I don’t have to let you know who I am if I haven’t broken any laws.”

Lollie, was innocent of committing any crime whatsoever. He explained that had not been loitering in front of the First National Bank building. Instead, he had been waiting to pick up his kids from school, not far away.

Lollie was then followed by two officers who eventually attacked and tasered him, right in front of his children.

This St. Paul father explained to the officers “the real problem here is that I’m black.”

Almost immediately, the officers attacked him. His cell phone was recording the whole ordeal, but once tasered, he dropped it. The video still picked up the bulk of the interaction’s audio.

“Please help me! Someone please help me! I haven’t done anything wrong!”

“I didn’t do anything wrong, I didn’t break any laws and you tased me! That’s assault!”

Lollie ended up being “charged with trespassing, disorderly conduct, and obstructing the legal process…”

Check out the video of the incident below…

The charges were all eventually dropped. Lollie was right. He had no legal obligation to identify himself. But that didn’t stop these rogue cops from assaulting and tasering him in front of his own children.

  1. This is what people would expect in a fascist and racist country where people are denied all freedoms. Is this what the USA has become? Has it always been like this for people of African descent in the USA. I remember that it was even worse back before 1964. I had thought that the situation had improved for African-Americans, yet this and many other reports indicate that racism is still practised by the police. Any nation that allows this treatment of its citizens has a broken system in place. So sad.
